What was supposed to be a relaxing day at the lake on Friday, quickly turned into a nightmare. "To see a baby like that will change you," said lake goer, Heidi Downs. Jacklyn Boyce said she had just lied down, and "I heard somebody say the boy is blue, the kid is blue!" She said it was pure chaos seeing 3-year-old Noah Ortigo lie unresponsive on the shore of Lake o' the Pines.

"There were two young ladies giving him CPR and I mean he was blue, he wasn't responsive at all. To be honest I thought that little boy was gone when I walked over there," said Boyce. One of those ladies was Heidi Downs who said, "my friend Dee got to him before I could, and she had already started the breathing for him, and I got to him and I knew CPR too. I started doing the compressions and she was doing the breathing." Downs said she was afraid he wasn't coming back.

Minutes later, a sigh of relief, when the two women saw Ortigo started breathing. "I was just thanking god this baby was alive," said Downs. Paramedics arrived shortly after, and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Officials said he was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center and was released later Friday night. Downs said the paramedics told her, "if we wouldn't have been there he would've died."

Both Boyce and Downs encourage everyone to get CPR certified. "I've known CPR for 10 years and never had to use it, and never thought I would," said Downs.

Noah is 2 at present. He will not be 3 until next month. Did the report ever say how the accident happened? Was there supervision?
