TYLER - Several East Texas colleges are seeing a surge of new students come through their doors and the increase is creating new challenges for the students and the faculty.

While the recession is hitting many family's and businesses hard, their is one institution according to experts that is doing quite well right now, higher education.Experts say colleges and university are booming right now.

You might think with the recession and the expensive cost of school tuition, people would be fleeing from college campuses but experts say, the economy and recession is driving people --to-- their campuses.

Texas college is one of several school in the area that are seeing the increase. A spokes person for a Texas college says their increase they've seen is not the run of the mill students. In fact, most of the students Texas college is seeing come through their doors are return students who have decided to finish their education.

Administrators say while the new challenges are brought in with new students, they say for the time being it's a good problem to have.
