In true East Texas fashion the community showed their deep care and concern by contributing their time and effort to search for the 2-year-old boy, jacob Kimbley, who went missing Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m.

Hundreds of volunteers from the community came out and were searching into the early morning hours, calling out Jacob's name in hopes to find the little boy and return him safely to his family.

There were helicopters, people on four-wheel off roading vehicles, people on foot, Smith County police officers and officals on horseback searching for Kimbley from 2 p.m. Tuesday up until his body was found and he was pronouced dead, and found in a septic tank in the heavily wooded area near his home shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The outpouring of community support was so overwheleming that the Smith County Sherif Dept. had to turn civilians away and tell them they had enough volunteers to continue the search Tuesday.

There has been a fund set up in Jacob Kimbley's honor for his family under the name, "David Kimbley" at Regions Bank, if you would like to donate to the Kimbley family to support funeral costs and expenses during this emotional time.
