Lufkin, Texas — Thomas and Kay Blunk of Central got a phone call from their son Friday afternoon telling them their grandson Jonathan had gone to go see the new Batman movie in Aurora, Colo., and that no one had heard from him. He also hadn’t shown up for work.

A couple of hours later their son called back, telling them Jonathan was among the multiple people killed in a shooting inside the theater. The FBI came to the couple’s home around 9 p.m. Friday to let them know of Jonathan’s death. He was 26.
