Hiking, camping, and now praying. Trail Life USA is a new outdoor, Christian-based organization here in East Texas and around the country.

KETK spoke with the Troop Leader from the Trail Life Bullard Troop, Wes Stripling, who said, "We intertwine elements of Christianity with scouting. This is not a scouting organization that gives you just a touch of Christianity, or just a touch of exposure to religion". This group is associated with the "Church of Christ", and considers themselves non-denominational.

The group in East Texas officially began in January. This formed as a result of a policy change within Boy Scouts of America. Stripling said, "Specifically within the B.S.A. was to allow openly homosexual scouts into the organization".  So this group decided to start an organization of their own.

Monday is the first informational meeting to get East Texans involved. Currently, they have interest from 12 to 14 kids. Stripling said, "We want to tell them what it's about, what we are. You know we want to provide a quality youth program here in the community". The goal is to help the young men grow up to be leaders. Stripling said, "We want these boys to grow up to be good fathers good husbands you we want them to learn to respect one another and their fellow man".  Trail Life USA is still in the beginning stages, and is expected to continue growing.

Along with the Bullard Troop, Whitehouse First Baptist Church will be holding an informational meeting Monday at 6:30 pm at the church. There is also a troop in Mineola.

This sounds GREAT!

Now I was in the BSA along ago (2nd class was as far as I got.)

But with the 'gay' thing in the BSA, which is flat immoral, I guess it's time for a new organization that has CHRISTIAN values.

Hope to hear more of this organization. I bet the Catholics, Baptist, Lutheran, Church of Christ, and other Christian Churches can all get behind this.

Media defines you as a homophobe. And should the censor of this site find objection to my using the word then, let me remind them that media calls Christians that name everyday. Personally I take offense when media calls me that; there is no phobia associated with my feelings. I think nose pickers should be banned from restaurants, not because they are scary or that I might become like them, but because they are disgusting.
