Libraries across East Texas have been at the forefront of embracing new technology, and now, if you have a membership at a number of those libraries, you can rent books, from the comfort of your own home.

The Jacksonville Public Library has joined eight other area libraries in offering e-books to check out.

It's all part of a group effort to keep up with the times, and make reading your favorite book as easy, and convenient as possible.

The library is partnering with Northeast Texas Digital Consortium, which allows Jacksonville card holders to rent and download books directly to whatever reading device they happen to use.

It's a way to keep up with the digital age, but according to librarians, nothing will ever replace good ole ink and paper.

To promote this new service, starting on March 13th through the 16th, as part of their Friends of the Library book sell, you can enter to win a Nook or Kindle reading device.

You can enter four times, and the winner will be drawn on the 17th.
