A World War II veteran and former reverend  was killed in a fire in Arp on Wednesday morning.

Authorities tell KETK that Leon Hackett, 93, was killed when his mobile home on Highway 135 and Smith County Road 2153 caught fire around 3:00 a.m.

Firefighters believe that a wood burning stove was the cause.

Hackett lived in the house alone. His wife had previously passed away.
