Bob Brackeen takes a bite out of the "Bubba Burger"

EAST TEXAS - There's a story East Texans say is the gospel truth: the hamburger was invented around these parts.

Many burger affecianados will get down-right emotional debating who makes the best on a bun.

One group of burger buffs say if you're looking for 'Hamburger Valhala" you need to head East.

Bob Brackeen took their advice and followed Highway 154 to a little grocery store with a grill and plenty of local flavor as well.

He introduces us to "The Bubba Burger" and two brothers who lay claim to the creation, in: "Eats Texas: Part 2."

Bob, I am so glad that after all these years this link is still good and the video still plays.

A co-worker is leaving us today here in Longview for a job in Marshall. I wanted to be able to tell him where *the* place was for him to get a burger!

Joe

Hi Bob,

I found this store:

Fugler's Hand Turned Pottery
9823 State Highway 154
Marshall, TX 75670-4789
(903) 935-6693

However, the phone number is no longer valid.

I don't think I'd have time to get all the way there during my lunch hour, and I want to ask them if they are open on the weekends.

Is this the right store? Is the address correct? I'd imagine there aren't too many Fugler's along that road.

HEY JOE;

HERE'S THE CORRECT NUMBER FOR FUGLER'S GROCERY AND MARKET

903-935-5967

THEIR ADDRESS: 10079 HIGHWAY 154, MARSHALL TEX. 75670

Thank you, Bob!

I gave them a call, and they are open on Saturdays from 7 AM to 9 PM; closed Sundays.

From Longview, take Highway 259 North.
To Diana. Then right (east) on highway 154.
You'll travel through Harleton. Eight miles east of Harleton you'll see Fuglers on the right.
