Eats Texas: Fugler's Store
Bob Brackeen takes a bite out of the "Bubba Burger"
March 11, 2009 - 10:48pm
EAST TEXAS - There's a story East Texans say is the gospel truth: the hamburger was invented around these parts.
Many burger affecianados will get down-right emotional debating who makes the best on a bun.
One group of burger buffs say if you're looking for 'Hamburger Valhala" you need to head East.
Bob Brackeen took their advice and followed Highway 154 to a little grocery store with a grill and plenty of local flavor as well.
He introduces us to "The Bubba Burger" and two brothers who lay claim to the creation, in: "Eats Texas: Part 2."

Hi Bob,
I found this store:
Fugler's Hand Turned Pottery
9823 State Highway 154
Marshall, TX 75670-4789
(903) 935-6693
However, the phone number is no longer valid.
I don't think I'd have time to get all the way there during my lunch hour, and I want to ask them if they are open on the weekends.
Is this the right store? Is the address correct? I'd imagine there aren't too many Fugler's along that road.
