Economy improving in Tyler

Construction sites are popping up everywhere in the Tyler area, which means more people and more money.

And as the population of Tyler continues to grow, so does the economy.

Restaurants, banks and retailers are leading the way in the business movement.

According to a Milken Institute study, Tyler was ranked 7th out of 179 best-performing small metropolitan cities for exceeding in creation and sustaining jobs and economic growth.

We've had small, local business persons in Longview invest in new homes, new retailers and new restaurants here for the past two years plus. We are definitely feeling an upswing here. I guess the glass can always be half empty.

NATIONAL CHAIN restaurants, NATIONAL CHAIN banks and NATIONAL CHAIN retailers. How exciting.

Why have the three houses on my street been on the market for over one year if the Tyler economy is all that good?
