Cowboys Football means money for Local Businesses
TYLER - Thursday was the official kickoff to the regular N.F.L season, and Sunday the Dallas Cowboys made their debut.
Today wasn't just a day fans have been waiting for, but also local restaurants and bars as well.
While the Dallas Cowboys kicked off their regular season Sunday, die-hard fans were glued to their T.V.s following the game quarter to quarter and flag to flag.
No matter if your a fan of the Cowboys, Saints, or Texans, hard economic times haven't benched these fans.
Local sports bars and other sports-related restaurants say football season is a huge boost in revenue.
Freddy Montoya, manager of Buffalo Wild Wings in Tyler, says on Sundays during football season, their sales will almost double, even triple depending on who's playing.
With all the excitement and energy in the air, Montoya says it's the next best thing to actually being at the game.
"We give the experience of not being at home, and they come in here and see the decorations and all the T.V.s and the football. For a second you forget about what's going on on the outside," Montoya says.
So no matter win or lose, football season is a time to not only have the perfect excuse to do nothing but watch football every Sunday, but also for local restaurants to rake in the dough.
