Report: Low Incomes Can Mean Unhealthy Eating Habits

February 8, 2009 - 5:23pm

Americans may reduce the amount they spend on food during this tough time, but experts are concerned that people are chowing down on cheap, unhealthy foods.

Reports have linked obesity and unhealthy eating habits to low incomes.

One recent study shows, a 10-percent rise in poverty translates to a 6-percent increase in obesity among adults.

Most fast food restaurants have dollar menus that are low in cost, but sky high in calories and fat.
