TYLER - Tyler Pounds Regional Airport is getting almost six-million dollars as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The money will be used to fix one of the three runways.

Repairs include base repair, overlay and grooving of the runway pavement.

These funds do not require a local match and will cover 100 percent of the construction costs for this project.

Repairs are expected to begin as early as this June.

Honestly? 6 million for Pounds Field, to fix one runway, thats ridiculous. First off Tyler doesnt need 3 runways. How many planes land there, one an hour? Come on spend money money wisely. Texas or any other state should not even accept the stimulus money. The plans are full of billions of dollars of wastefull things and this is one of them. Lets not forget that this is not money we have layin around its is being borrowed from other countries, mostly China, and they are charging interest.
