Edible education: Culinary arts programs grow at East Texas high schools

Garrett Gibson carefully placed scoops of vanilla ice cream on either side of the chocolate cake he had baked to “make the cake pop.”
“Food has to look good because if it doesn’t look good you’re not going to want to eat it,” said Gibson, a junior culinary arts student at Union Grove High School.
