Saturday, Aug. 16 at 8 p.m., the City of Tyler’s Liberty Hall will present Edwin McCain live in concert. McCain is well known for his songs “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More,” which were both popular in the 1990s.

McCain grew up in South Carolina. Touring with Hootie and the Blowfish, Edwin McCain signed with Atlantic Records in 1994 and recorded his first major-label album, “Honor Among Thieves” in 1995. His second album, “Misguided Roses,” spawned “I’ll Be," a major hit single in 1998. This song is also featured in the 2000 drama television show “Higher Ground,” as well as the 2004 teen flick “A Cinderella Story.”

The summer of 1999 marked the arrival of McCain's third album, “Messenger.” Included on the album was a second Top 40 hit that Diane Warren-penned, "I Could Not Ask For More," which was featured on the soundtrack for the 1999 film “Message in a Bottle,” which starred Kevin Costner and Robin Wright

The Edwin McCain concert will feature his acoustic trio and will be opened by Michaelis, a trio of three hippie-cowgirl sisters from Sugar Land, TX. Tickets are available online at www.LibertyTyler.com and range from $20-$35 per person.
