Longview — An elderly woman hit by an SUV succumbed to her injuries a few days ago.

Mary Ruth Burgess Neal, of Longview, was struck crossing a roadway near the intersection of West Loop 281 and Gilmer Road.

Officer say Charles Patrick McClain was driving south on Gilmer Road when he hit the 86-year old woman.

She was taken to a local hospital and remained there until she died Friday.

No charges have been filed against McClain.
