***NEWS RELEASE***

On February 26, 2010 at around 9:06 a.m., Longview Officers were dispatched to
Ware Elementary School at 601 Garfield Drive for a disturbance.

Officers arrived and met with school administrators, who told them they had a
student in the office that had brought a very real looking bb gun to school.

Administrators became aware of the bb gun, because several students reported
to them that the suspect had been showing the gun to other students in a
bathroom.

As officers investigated, it was discovered that the suspect had threatened
another student earlier in the morning with the bb gun and demanded money
from the student. The juvenile suspect was arrested and taken to the Gregg
County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with robbery.

No one was injured during the incident and the bb gun was found to be unloaded.
