Open Carry Texas demonstrations can create some intresting dialogue with people on different sides of the fence, but in Fort Worth on Thursday, it created a bit of excitement.

On Saturday Open Carry protestors were out in Tyler, with their signs. KETK was there and covered the story. http://www.ketknbc.com/news/open-carry-texas-took-to-the-streets-in-tyler

A different group was in Fort Worth on Thursday, but with a much different outcome. They were running late for the demonstration so they stopped by Jack in the Box to grab some food

One of the men in the group said he always carries his semi-automatic rifle on his back when he's out for an open carry demonstration... so people won't think he intends to use it. But police say that's exactly  what the Jack in the Box people thought... They even hid in the cooler.

Police have no apologies for responding to what people thought was a band of robbers.

Hold-ups have happened around here before, but protestors say citizens should be aware... Open Carry Texas demonstrations will continue.

One protestor says his group will try harder to warn police in the future.. as they request.. and to carry signs explaining to the public they are demonstrators and not crooks.

You should really try fact checking. Just like we (Open Carry Texas and Open Carry Tarrant County, different organizations that work together for a common goal) have said all along, this is false. The employees did not call the cops, a passer by did. The employees had no problem and served the customers quite professionally. The cops (Sgt. Bush) did say that the employees hid in the freezer, but as we all know the cops often lie, as they did here. A copy of the phone call reporting them is avail

There's a time and place for everything. If you're too paranoid to walk into a Jack n the Box in broad daylight unarmed, please seek mental health care. You might also consider watching less Fox News. Walking around a burger joint with a rifle slung over your shoulder is inflammatory and uncalled for. Ignorant red necked Bubbas like that will end up costing all of us responsible people our gun rights.

Nope they didn't hide in the freezer. The manager even took pick withe people that were open carrying. Please fact check before you spread lies and rumors. Another example of poor reporting. Kinda sad...

This is the biggest boatload of whatever around! Why wouldn't folks be afraid of seeing ANYONE with some sort of rifle slung over his/her shoulder? Why wouldn't someone's first impression elicit fear? How is anyone who is innocent and does not carry a firearm supposed to respond to being forced to be close by a gun slinger? This fear is exactly what these fools will continue to promote in the future...gun rights? How about the rights of people to not fear open carry wanna-be militants?
