It's never to early to start your Christmas shopping!  You can get a jump start at this year's Christmas in July event being held at the Tyler Rose Garden Center. The 6th annual Christmas in July event will be next weekend July 12, from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. and July 13, 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.

"The Rose Garden Center kind of just comes alive with Christmas decorations the hall down behind me is going to be filled with vendors," said special events/recreation manager Debbie Isham.

More than 60 vendors from all over the country will pack the Rose Garden Center with all handmade items.

"Unique jewelry, metal art, fine art, mixed media type of art, sewing, photography, just a lot of cool stuff this year," said Isham.

Isham said this event is a great idea for vendors to sell some of their unique work and have an event during the summertime.

"Some folks will be bringing Christmas items that they make, wreaths, glass ornaments, bath and body products, goat milk soap, we have some returning vendors that people look for them every time," said Isham.

Santa will also be stopping by for a quick break from his busy schedule, Saturday 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. And Sunday 1-4 p.m.

"The kids are jumping up and down waiting to see Santa," said Isham.

Local jewelry designer Sheryl Penn said the atmosphere of this event is always very cheerful.

"We really have an atmosphere celebrating Christmas and i'ts a good opportunity for people in the community to come and shop with local vendors that do handcrafted items, but you get a jump on your Christmas shopping as well," said Penn.

Penn said it's great to see the community come out and support their handcrafted work.

"As long as I can continue to make jewelry, I will be there without a doubt."
