HOLLYWOOD - The slumping economy didn't keep movie goers from setting records at the box office during the christmas holiday.
The family film Marley & Me starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston set a box office record by grossing almost 18-million dollars on christmas day.
That's the largest one-day box office total for a movie opening on christmas.
Audiences also flocked to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button starring Brad Pitt.
The film took in eleven million dollars making it the second-highest christmas opening of all-time.
