In February, the FAA issued a directive to Texas EquuSearch not to use drones in searches
Houston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; Texas EquuSearch filed suit Monday against the federal government to overturn the grounding of its fleet of aerial drones used to search for missing people.
Tim Miller, founder and director of EquuSearch, said the Feb. 21 Federal Aviation Administration order prohibiting the operation of four drones has meant the nonprofit has not used them in three active searches for missing people in Katy, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
