ETX bicyclist dead after man suffering stroke runs him over

Panola County, Texas (KETK) — A Carthage bicyclist is dead after a man, who was having health issues, ran over the biker Tuesday morning, in East Texas.
According to Trooper Jean Dark with the Department of Public Safety, around 5:00 a.m., Tony Weldon Gilliam, 50, was riding his bike south on United States Highway 59, a mile from Carthage, when he was hit by a truck driven by Douglas Minton, 82, of Marshall.
Gilman was pronounced dead around 5:30 a.m., at a Carthage hospital and Minton was treated for a stroke at a Panola County medical center before being flown to Longview for further treatment.
No charges have been filed.
