On April 26, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. officers from the Palestine Police Department were called to a traffic accident on Loop 256 and Martin Luther King Blvd. Officers arrived on scene and found three vehicles that were involved in an accident.

During investigation police were able to find that a truck with a trailer was traveling south bound on Loop 256. The truck approached the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd when a van pulled into the path of the truck. The van was traveling west bound on MLK.

The impact of the truck pushed the van onto MLK where it hit a car.

The driver of the car and the driver of the van were taken to a local hospital.

The impact pushed the van over onto Martin Luther King Blvd where it contacted a Ford passenger car. The driver of the van was later taken to another local hospital for further treatment.

A male passenger in the van was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The name of the man has not yet been released and will remain unknown until the family has been notified.

The driver of the truck was not injured, his name also has not yet been released. Police are still trying to determine what charges if any the man could face.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
