An East Texas woman was injured after a car accident, Wednesday morning.

Around 10:25 a.m., deputies with the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a one-vehicle crash three miles west of Avinger on Highway 155 in Cass County.

Cara Marin Blackburn, 29, of Jefferson, was driving down the highway when she swerved to miss a deer, causing her to run off the road and hit a tree.

Blackburn refused medical attention on scene and was taken by private transportation to a local hospital.

The extent of Blackburn's injuries are unknown at this time, but KETK will update details when they are available.

Should have hit the deer, trees don't move and cause more damage when you hit them.
