Palestine, TX (KETK) — The 1836 Chuck wagon Race is this weekend; Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Diamond B Ranch, in Palestine. Gates open Friday, and activities run through Sunday.
 

People from East Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma are expected to attend. Up to 5,000 people plan to attend this event. It's one of the largest gathering in the state of Texas for Texas Independence day.

The  event if held every year to commemorate Texas' independence and the cowboy culture.

WHEN: Texas Independence Day Weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

WHERE: Diamond B Ranch, 11589 Farm-to-Market Road 321, north of Palestine. Gates open today for camping.

COST: Admission to the 1836 Chuck wagon Race is $20 per day for adults, $10 per day for children, 12 and under. Horses are also welcome.
