Tyler, Tx — August 1 – 7 is World Breastfeeding Week.
Women across the globe are talking and learning about the importance of breastfeeding.
In honor of World Breastfeeding Week Lufkin held an event today at Lufkin Mall where women gathered and shared stories and learned about breastfeeding and all the advantages that come along with it.
On August 21, the Northeast Texas Public Health District is holding an event at the Salvation Army on North Broadway —The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. all mothers and expectant mothers and their families are welcome to attend and learn more about the benefits of breastfeeding.
WIC also holds numerous events around Tyler throughout the year to educate mothers about the importance of breastfeeding. The WIC Program has 17 clinics in 11 counties throughout East Texas.

WIC is a nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new mothers, and young children eat well, learn about nutrition, and stay healthy.
