COFFEE CITY — It's called the "Official Website" of Coffee City, but it's actually a lampoon.
Coffee City Mayor pro-tem John Graham tells KETK, they've been working to get other business in town besides the liquor stores...like hotels...
"We present it to them, they become interested in the possibilities...they do their own website searches and find this filthy website and they immediately throw up barriers as to wanting to invest any kind of capital into our town," Graham said.
Graham tells KETK, a good example of how the group works is this: this past Halloween, the city put on a celebration across the bay with live music...at about 9 PM, 911 became inundated with phone calls.
"And the Sheriff's department showed up because it's outside the jurisdiction of the city and they shut us down and we had to write checks to people for not doing a thing and it was all 911 calls from the Concerned Citizens of Coffee City," Graham said.
Ron Jeffries lives in Coffee City...he calls himself a Concerned Citizen...just not at all a member of that group.
Jeffries noted how Council aldermann Darlene Jordan walked out of the meeting.
"She got up and walked out of the meeting...as well as Mrs. Drost did that night. These people are elected to represent these Concerned Citizens, yet they get up and walk, out. So what part of Concerned Citizens do they represent?" Jeffries said.
Steve Gullekson feels the same.
"I don't know what the Concerned Citizens, this fringe group has to do with the rest of the city, but I know that their core agenda is to have the city go out of business," Gullekson said.
Concerned Citizen Carl Drost tells KETK, he was assaulted by the Mayor while picking up an open records request.
We asked Mayor Tony Moore what really happened ...we'll get to that in a minute.
First, we asked him about the meeting. He called it chaos...but controlled chaos...and an opportunity to show citizens what council members like Pam Drost are really about.
"You guys caught it on tv...her storming out...but she never left. She came back in and all of that was a show for you guys," Moore said.
So...back to the alleged assault.
Moore showed KETK how they had to spend city money to put up walls at City Hall after the incident.
He claims Carl Drost came in close proximity to one of the city employees in an argument...
Moore intervened...but says he didn't assault Drost.
"Why would I touch him on the nose when I could have well...if I would have got assault charges...if I would have did the assault, I would have did it right," Moore said.

So in the August Council meeting, NO ONE was allowed to speak or ask questions unless ordained by this Mayor Mooreon. And, now he calls the taped meeting a "fiasco" and will never allow it to happen again.
A far cry from his "controlled chaos" gloat. And this is the idiot who set the agenda. Thank goodness he is NOT running for mayor again. He is a complete incompetent and loser. Coffee City needs to elect a mayor and council that supports government transparency. Vote for Wakeman for mayor!

Thanks to whoever told about the 2 way mirror in John Graham's house. That person acted out of concern for the welfare of people that might be going into that house. I am relieved it is finally out there and admitted to by John Graham himself. Shame there isn't a big sign on HWY 155 at the entrance to his street to warn unsuspecting visitors to his home.
This is SO much worse than the little amount of trash that a fisherman might leave under the bridges he is so concerned about.
Why does John Graham have a two way mirror in his bathroom??????????? The only reason I can think of would be to watch people while they are in the bathroom???
I am so happy and relieved that John Graham actually admitted in public at the Coffee City Council Meeting on live camera for KETK television and in front of the Editor of the Frankston news paper that he has the 2 way mirrors in his home.
There is a website solely placed to show the lies and half-truths posted by the concerned citizens group. It is www.concernedcitizensOFcoffeecity.com this website was created by truly concerned citizens that want to see our city grow. But if the council women who are known to walk out and even boycott meetings and their radical, racist organization have their way that will never happen. They even post on Craigslist to harass those that stand against them, do a search and see for yourself.
Ask MAYOR PRO TEM John Graham why he was shut down the nuisance law was violated !!! Otherwise the they could have been shut down!!
They were in Big Time violation of the nuisance law !!
The Halloween Concert was an abortion !!! They just thought they could go past the nuisance law but it did NOT work !!!
That is a website set up by city actors to attack the Concerned Citizens Watchdog Blog. The mayor claims it to be "their" (the city's site). There is nothing there but vile accusations about citizens of Coffee City they consider a threat to the present regime, most of whom are not associated with the CCCC blog.

This website is owned and operated by John Graham, and he has used, among other "tools" a Frankston Police officer who is the daughter of Coffee City's Fire Chief, who wrote the illegal and illiterate annexations which Graham stated in the Frankston Citizen was purposely done to dilute the citizens' votes. The accusations of who posts under what names is pure speculation, other than Ghost, Rebel, and myself, who proudly state our names, and I even make vlogs! No shame here - why won't Graham?
Oh is that the site that accuses elderly people who happen to disagree with the city's corrupt agendas of being terrorists? I saw that site once. It reads like 12 and 13 year old "mean girls" wrote it. It has no humor, nor cleverness. Just spite and vitriol. Grow up.

Portion of argument at coffee city council meeting 7/9/2012 in local paper today involving Mayor Pro Tem John Graham who is claimed to have two way mirrors in his homes bathroom.

"Graham said Savage could only know about mirrors in his house through Councilman Pam Drost and her husband, Carl Drost, still neighbors and former friends with Graham before local politics blew their friendship apart. The mayor pro tem said Carl Drost feeds information to the Savage web site".
Drost does not have to feed that web site and the two-way mirrors was a satirical joke. Who knew there would be comical truth to it...
The city had to build a partition to keep the mayor from battering a citizen whose only transgression was to ask for documents via an open records request and not take no for an answer? I might add Carl Drost wasn't the first to be assaulted by the Mayor because they asked for public records, he was the first to be battered by the Mayor.

Why indeed mayor? Why didn't you tell the press about your Community Center and how it won't cost any more money to double the size? Tell them about how you can't censure vile comments by the Mayor Protem but can do everything possible to silence the owner of the CCCC website, including having the EDC investigate his wholesale business.
Do some of the CCCC wish to be disannexed? Well, Henderson County used to fix our roads, something Coffee City refuses to do. Henderson County gave us unbiased police protection, Coffee CityPD is run by self serving employees that run the town by proxy. The fire protection was exactly the same, with the worst rating possible. Only Brierwood Bay is getting anything from the city and they want more. That's the truth of what you saw at that meeting.
Gullekson knows that Alderladies Drost and Jordon were voted in on a mandate of no property taxes by the CCCC, so he has made a concerted effort to discredit the CCCC and their influence because the CCCC only needs one more council person to hold a majority. What you saw at the council meeting were city "members" (as the Mayor calls them) attacking citizens of Coffee City who they fear will stand in the way of their ambitions.
So what exactly is going on in Coffee City, why did all those Brierwood Bay people show up to bash what even Wakeman claims is 3 people associated with the website? The city is broke, the budget for next year was presented in the red, the city EDC has drawn one business to Coffee City (a head shop where the Chief of Police hangs out), Smith County is voting to go wet (and likely will this time), the honey hole is drying up...so Gullekson wants to levy a property tax.
Ron Jefferies is a Brierwood Bay POA board member, he is not a concerned citizen and has no right to speak as such or usurp the name. Clearly another lie perpetrated by the POA mentality of the biggest liar wins. The fact is and was documented in the newspaper, that Brierwood Bay would not have been annexed had the ruling (mostly unelected) Cadre not wanted to "water down the CCCC vote". Granted it's not being rolled over, as the Mayor said he would do to the CCCC.
Moore admits the meeting was planned and carried out to show everyone what Drost was all about. For the record, it is no accident that it was the first time citizens were allowed to speak in open forum in more than a year. Ms. Drost has been smeared and repeatedly attack by the majority council because of her efforts to bring the city into compliance in finances and openness. The city website was shut down because CCCC insisted the city follow state law on what must be included.
The speakers you heard and saw attacking the CCCC website during the meeting were all the politically affiliated and will go to any lengths to quiet the opposition. The speakers came from Brierwood Bay (who are tickled to death with all the free services) or were from the EDC who spend money illegally on each other and say they are bringing in business. That was the only orchestration you say in the meeting, Ms. Drost reacted out of frustration over more than a tear of abuse by the council males
That council meeting was salted with Gullekson's people. Gullekson is the POA president of Brierwood Bay. Gullekson will not hold an election for his office in the POA saying he can't get a quorum. Yet, he supposedly was able to get a forum and ask to be annexed. Of course, he struck many negative votes on the grounds they weren't proper, even though the notary turned them in on time as per the notice.
First of all the Concerned Citizens are not a fringe group. They are a group of citizens formed to fight property taxes and lately some of us have taken on the task of also fighting graft and lawlessness. It is the last part that has Gullekson (who will be running for Mayor in Nov.), the current Mayor and Mayor ProTem up in arms.
The majority City Council told us during the annexation that the annexation of Brierwood Bay wouldn't cost the city one extra dime in money or resources. Move forward 6 months and the police, where they used to have one or two calls a week, now make an average of 20 calls week in Brierwood Bay alone. Many streets in Brierwood Bay aren't safe, they are the property of the POA and have fallen in disrepair because the POA refused to do anything about them.
Last year, the rest of Coffee City, got spoon fulls of asphalt in their potholes and any major road problems were ignored because the Mayor needed the asphalt for his Community Center debacle parking lot. Now we hear at the last council meeting that every penny of county road resources will be going to repair their private roads.

Does it not appear to be a political stunt to be screaming and wailing about a website in the media? I am a writer for the site, and I would have never known that either it or the parody site existed had it not been for the constant whining, complaining, and threatening Mayor Moore, Mayor Pro-Tem Graham, and aldermen Farris and Aubuchon constantly complained about in council meetings in front of the newspaper editor, and in letters to the paper!

This is a desperate ploy by a group who has seen 100% of their co-conspirators thrashed in the last election. Darlene Jordan beat Mike Aubuchon 10-1, then he was reappointed in a split vote, Graham and Farris (another unelected appointee) for, Jordan and Drost against, with Mayor Moore splitting the tie. A clear disregard by the Mayor and Pro-Tem of the will of the people. Since then each of their unpopular, illegal ordinances have been passed 3-2, and signed by the Mayor. Imagine that!

How do they expect anyone to believe that the website, http://concernedcitizenscoffeecity.com/coffeecity/, a local gov't watchdog website, is responsible for the lack of economic activity when the local government is staffed by incompetents with personal financial agendas? The "spoof" website they refer to is just a novelty. The watchdog website is extremely popular among lake residents. Note in the Frankston paper Graham's quote "It's not free speech if it's demeaning to the city". Nuff said!

Mayor Moore is a huge coward, who mistreats people at City Hall due to having his police there. He does not have one tough, fist-fighting bone in his body. In public, especially outside Coffee City Limits, he is meek as a baby rabbit.

I'm disappointed that the news story tonight did not report the fact that Graham admitted twice during the meeting to having a 2 way mirror in his downstairs bathroom, complete with video equipment to record unsuspecting visitors. It was reported Today in the Frankston Citizen newspaper. Also the fact that Graham said he would use money from the Economic Development Board to pursue a witch-hunt against Mr. Savage, the website administrator. Patently illegal.
. How can a concerned group of 200 in a town of 208 be considered a "fringe" group. It began because of nondisclosure of public information by city council officials, whose business dealings, city audit, and accounting records, are neither presented at council meetings nor available to citizens upon request. Perhaps KETK should view past council meetings to witness the mayor's behavior to the two women on the council to see just how much restraint these two councilwomen have demonstrated.
