East Texas — Criminals engaged in a modern form of slavery are trafficking sex in Longview and Northeast Texas, organizers of a one-day seminar plan to reveal here Friday.

“This has evolved fast,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Detective Christopher Baughman said. “This has evolved far beyond what people thought it is — and it’s evolving every day. People who used to run drugs and guns are looking for young girls that they can traffic.”
