Fair opens with safety ranked as top priority for workers
Longview — Two years ago a Shreveport child was seriously injured when he became trapped beneath a car and rotating platform of a kiddie ride at the Louisiana State Fair – a grim reminder that as much fun as a county fair can be – large mechanical rides can pose dangers.
Todd Armstrong Shows Concessions Manager Ricky Porter oversaw workers assembling carnival rides at Maude Cobb on Thursday for tonight’s premiere of the 64th Annual Gregg County Fair.
Porter says safety is the group’s main priority.
