Gregg County — One person has died in a wreck on Highway 259 near the Gregg County line bordering Rusk County.

It happened Friday afternoon when, for an unknown reason, the car left the roadway. Gregg County troopers say the car was headed south on Highway 259 when they hit a culvert and landed upside down.

Three people were inside the car during the accident. One person died, and 2 others were taken to a Longview hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
