Tyler — The 2014 Chick-fil-A Heart of a Champion Bowl All Star Game will be at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium June 14.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes started this event in Tyler four years ago.
"We have the ability to share with these young men for the week they're here who Christ is and what he can do in their life, especially with the skills they've been given to play football," said FCA rep Robert Bardin.
The game will feature a week of football and faith for East Texas players and coaches.
"Everyday I wake up is a blessing to me," said John Tyler coach Ricklan Holmes. "I get to show these kids the things I've been through, the things I've learned, how I've grown through Christ, understanding the spiritual side of everything."
"You spend a week in fellowship with each other," said Tyler Lee coach Darrell Piske. "The spirit of competition with the Christian attitude is a great thing."
"There are so many coaches here that have so many talents and abilities that are being developed for the Lord," said Bishop Gorman coach Coby Gipson. "When they take that spirit into the classroom, into the field house, into the weight room, onto the field, it changes kids' lives forever."
