SMITH COUNTY - One person is sent to the hospital after a truck carrying a trailer allegedly runs into a semi-truck.  The impact caused the trailer on the 18-wheeler to separate from the truck, and both vehicles went up in flames.

Witnesses say the passenger of the pick-up dragged the driver out of the vehicle to try to save him.

The 18-wheeler was carrying a load of frozen meat that still sat on the side of the road hours after the crash.

Traffic on Interstate 20 eastbound near the Gregg/Smith County line was backed up for more than an hour.

My husband Kenneth Volleberg pulled that man out of the truck. He was not a passenger, just a bystander driving past. My husband had some small injuries to him but nothing compared to insuring that man's safety. I hope well for him and his family and We hope to make a trip to the hospital tomorrow to see him. My prayers are with the family of the that man. May God Bless you!!
