Financially upside down

When this story broke this week..it was one of those stories you have to stare at few few minutes and make sure you have it right.
But, unfortunately, I read it correctly.
From Fox Business ---U.S. households are now getting more in cash handouts from the government than they are paying in taxes for the first time since the Great Depression.
Households received $2.3 trillion in some kind of government support in 2010.
That includes expanded unemployment benefits, as well as payments for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and stimulus spending, among other things.
But that's more than the $2.2 trillion households paid in taxes, an amount that has slumped largely due to the recession, according to an analysis by the Fiscal Times.
And the handouts from the government have been growing.
That is a tough feeding trough to take away from voters.
Back a long time ago many people didn't want to be on what was called "relief."
Folks wanted to do for themselves.
But, thats to a bunch of smart politicians...who realized there is gold in handing other people money....the dole has become a way of life.
Now we have generations who think getting a check from uncle sugar is a right..and a way of life.
I mean...why the hassle if you can get someone else to pay?
It used to be people who created wealth and provided jobs were seen as a good thing.
But, through political demogagory, anyone who creates wealth now- a- days is a target--unless it's an entertainer...getting money from a big production company--- who speaks out or writes songs about how greedy other rich people are.
You can laugh all you want.
Government doesnt create anything....except the mess we're in right now.
That's my point of view..what's yours?
