Fire destroys Flint home, Dog saved by firefighters

Fire destroys a home in Flint Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at a home on the 20-thousand block of FM 2493, just before 5 o'clock.

Fire officials tell KETK, an elderly woman was inside the house when the fire ignited.

She is handicapped, but says, she was able to get out safely when she smelled the smoke.

Her dog, however, didn't make it out alone.

Firefighters rescued the sweet little thing from underneath the rubble.

It was quite the scene, but thankfully, everyone is okay

The house is a loss.

No word what started the fire.

It remains under investigation.
