Firefighters battle blaze in East Mountain area; Evacuations ordered

East Mountain — The fire in Gregg Co. is now contained, but crews are still on the scene putting out hot spots.
About 25-30 acres have been scorched.
Officials have not lifted the evacuation orders.
UPDATE: The fire on FM 1844 continues to grow.
Fire trucks are aligned to protect houses should it be necessary.
The fire has currently burned about 24 acres.
Right now the fire is mostly in a wooded area but fire officials say high winds are hindering their efforts
Westbound traffic on FM 1844 shut down at Hamby Road and eastbound traffic on FM 1844 shut down at Highway 300.
FM 1844 has been shut down from 7 Pine Cutoff to Fuller Road.
Fire officials have issued an evacuation order for Burnam Road located east of Highway 300.
A Fire is spreading fast in the East Mountain area on FM 1844 near Highway 300.
Officials say flames are close to jumping to the south side of 1844.
