Fireworks stands and warehouses are braced for the flood of shoppers they know will come Wednesday through Friday in the days leading up to July 4, but across Longview sellers are already seeing an increase from 2013’s burn-ban littered horizon.

“Today compared to July of last year, we are about five times your total sales over last year. This time up to probably Wednesday is going to be slower. We will do 90 percent of our sales on Thursday and Friday,” said Tonya Fowler, the manager of a Black Cat warehouse at Texas 300 and FM 1844.

No county east of the Dallas, Fort Worth metroplex has a countywide burn ban in place, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

“We had complete fireworks bans in a lot of the surrounding counties, burn bans in pretty much every county last year. It is making a huge difference,” she said.

Curtis Passley, who runs the Fantastic Fireworks stand on U.S. 259 and Airline Road, agreed.
