AS REPORTED IN THE LUFKIN DAILY NEWS:

Just in time to keep up with New Year’s resolutions, the public is invited to attend a one-day fitness camp on Saturday at the Woodland Heights Affinity Center.

Power pump, Zumba dance and yoga will be offered during the camp, which will be instructed by Connie Reeves, CPT and owner of Get Fit in Lufkin. Reeves’s other trainers will also volunteer their services by instructing classes at the day-long event.

In October, Reeves was contacted by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and asked if she’d be interested in hosting a fundraiser for the organization.

“I was told they wanted to find a fitness place to hold a St. Jude Get Fit class,” Reeves said.

Beginning at 5 a.m., Reeves will host a session of three different workouts. Each session consists of power pump, Zumba and yoga and lasts an hour and fifteen minutes.

“The schedule gives people an opportunity to come at a time when it’s convenient,” Reeves said. “They can come and go.”

A $10 donation is all that’s required to participate in the fitness camp. Participants can stay for one session or the entire day.
