GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The leader of a small Florida church that espouses anti-Islam philosophy says he is going forward with his plans to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11 despite pressure from the White House, religious leaders and others to call it off.
Pastor Terry Jones told a press conference Wednesday in Gainesville that he has no intention of canceling.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the top U.S. general in Afghanistan and several Christian leaders have asked Jones to reconsider his plans to burn the Qurans outside his Gainesville church Saturday. They say his actions will endanger U.S. soldiers and provide a strong recruitment tool for Islamic extremists.

Muslims get a bad rep because some of the men who aim to destroy our country are muslim. Are there not bad "christians"? Are there not bad "scientologists"? I'm just sayin...there are bad seeds everywhere, in every religion, in every family. We don't kill off a family or persecute a family for the wrong one member has done, do we?

I personally believe you shouldn't persecute someone for their religion or lack there of. I believe what they are doing is wrong, especially since they claim to be Christians. Christians do not judge. The Quran did not make those people steal our planes and crash them into the Twin Towers; it was a choice made by them and by their leaders. I hope they reconsider doing this because it could, quite possibly, cause trouble for the very men and women who are fighting for our freedom.

Muslims always seem to have a "reason" to be offended. However they, on the other hand, do not seem to care who they offend with their murderous attitude and use of terror. While I do not condone intentionally provoking others, if that church wants to burn the qurans, I say let em burn just like the world trade centers did. (with over 3000 deaths) Besides, try opening a Bible in a muslilm country and see what happens to it. (and to you) NEVER FORGET 9-11
