ElDorado—Opening statements in the criminal trial of Raymond Jessop are underway.
A prosecutor told jurors Wednesday witnesses, documents, and DNA will show Jessop sexually assaulted a teenage girl at a west Texas Ranch.
Jessop’s attorney insists prosecutors don’t have evidence to show a crime occurred.
He told jurors not to be distracted by the group’s prarie-style clothing, braids, or religious beliefs.
This is the first criminal trial stemming from last year’s raid on the groups ranch.
