Everyone has their own way of celebrating the Fourth of July, but when it comes to something essential that people can agree on....it's food!

Whether you're grilling out or going out, everyone loves to eat on the holidays.

Here in East Texas we asked people what they love to eat most on the Fourth of July and it was unanimous....barbeque!

Local barbeque joints told KETK what their most popular foods are.  Rudy's said their brisket is what keeps everybody coming back.  However, both The Purple Pig and Stanley's said it is their baby back ribs.

We left it up to some East Texans who told us what their favorite barbeque is.

Nick Pencis from Stanley's Famous BBQ, told KETK that today Stanley's is celebrating Independence Day by cooking barbeque that makes people smile, "Texas style!"  He said it is not just the food that brings people together on the fourth, but the tradition and preparation behind it.

Pencis told KETK that barbeque takes a while to cook so families often hang out and enjoy each other's company while the food is cooking and then sit down together to enjoy a nicely cooked meal.

So, whether you are grilling out or going out to enjoy some East Texas BBQ, have a safe and happy Fourth of July!
