TYLER - The overnight storm that blew across East Texas knocked out power to several homes and businesses.
Two Brookshire's grocery stores in Tyler, including their largest store on Rice Road, lost power at about 10:30 Monday night.
Although store workers quickly switched to generator power, they could not save all the dairy, poultry and meat products.
Store officials say those who normally restock food and supplies overnight spent much of the day on Tuesday throwing out and replacing spoiled food.
By Tuesday evening, store officials say everything was back to normal.
