Kerri Monroe Jones admitted to embezzling just under $1.4 million dollars for personal use over the course of 13 years.

Jones appeared in federal court in Tyler on April 17th to plead guilty to the charge.

According to documents, Jones said in court:  "I was able to conceal the activity because my position allowed me to make "unauthorized and fraudulent" cash in and cash out entries that I was able to exploit for my own purposes and financial benefit."

She said she embezzled over $1 million dollars from Capitol One Bank on Judson Road in Longview where she worked as lead teller from April 2000 to September 2013. Longview Police Officer Debra Stiles says that's when police were alerted of the fraud.

"On September 16th of last year around 8:15 in the morning we got a call from the bank stating that one of their employees was stealing money. Our detectives worked alongside secret service and Capital One. Once we got everything together it was turned over for federal prosecution."

Jones is awaiting sentencing by a federal judge. She faces up to 30 years in federal prison and a $1 million dollar fine.
