Forney, TX (KETK) — A Forney woman was mistakenly pulled over and handcuffed at gunpoint on suspicions of waving a gun outside the window of her car.
Kametra Barbour, of Forney, was out driving with her children ages six, eight, nine, and 10 when police officers noticed her making an exit from the highway she was on.
At that same time, a 911-caller had reported seeing a vehicle carrying four black males with one of them waving a gun. The caller said that it had just taken an exit, the same exit Kametra Barbour had taken.
Upon pulling Ms. Barber over, police had their weapons drawn, yelling for her to put her hands on her head. Within one minute of pulling Ms. Barber over, the officers realized they had the wrong vehicle.
The description of the vehicle the 911-caller had given the police was "beige or tan colored". Ms. Barbers vehicle is burgundy red.
After police realized they had stopped the wrong vehicle, officers on scene tried to help calm Ms. Barber's children who had become upset throughout the incident.
Barber said that she herself was quite upset at the mistake however she understands the serious nature of the officers quick decisions.
