Famed Texas marine researcher Ray dies at 94
Galveston, TX — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; Sammy Ray, a founder of Texas A&M University at Galveston whose marine research brought him international acclaim, has died. He was 94.
Ray was a marine biologist who gained broad attention for research on oysters and as a leading authority on Gulf Coast fisheries.
