On Thursday, the Tyler Police Department received information that wanted person, Elisha “EJ” Williams, who was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a mother, Briana Raquel Young, at P.T. Cole Park, was at 606 South Fenton in Tyler.  Surveillance of the residence was conducted. Once information confirmed Williams was in the home, officers attempted to serve the warrant. Two women came out of the house and a pit bull followed. Officers ordered them to put the dog back in the house, but the orders were ignored. The dog aggressively went towards officers and fearing for their safety and the safety of others at the scene, officers shot the dog.

Williams then voluntarily came out of the home and submitted to arrest. Williams was taken to the Smith County jail and is being held on a $1,000.000.00 bond.

Police believe he was involved in the shooting death of Young on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in P.T. Cole Park.

Details about Williams' arrest are limited, but authorities tell KETK that unlike some of the previous suspects, he did not turn himself in. Police arrested him at another location in Tyler.

KETK will update the story as additional information is released.
