Former Fire Marshall Skelton will be making lateral move to battalion chief,

Lufkin — The Lufkin Daily News is reporting; There's a new Fire Marshall in town...Assistant Fire Chief Duane Freeman was selected by the department as fire marshal, in what the department is calling; a “reengineering” of LFD administration.

Former Fire Marshal Chief Lee Fran Skelton will be moved to battalion chief.

Freeman has been with the LFD since the mid-80's. He served as fire marshal for 12 years, until his promotion to assistant chief in 2006.
