Freezing temperatures: save on electricity bills
EAST TEXAS-- Low temperatures mean higher electricity bills for most people, but SWEPCO tells you how can save money:
-Use space heaters (If you do, they say to stay in the room when the heater is on just to be safe.)
-Seal cracks of doors and windows with insulation
-Do not go in and out of the house too much
-Open the blinds when the sun is shining.
-Set your thermostat to 68 degrees and keep it there.
SWEPCO officials say turning your heat on full blast will not help your home heat quicker. They also warn that electricity bills will more than likely go up in cold temperatures no matter what.
