The suspect in the 2009 Fort Hood attack has been banned from the courtroom Tuesday for not listening to the judge's orders.

Accused shooter Army Major Nidal Hasan watched on closed-circuit television from a nearby trailer as the proceeding continued.

Earlier this month, Military Judge Col. Gregory Goss told Hasan he was violating Army policy, and ordered him to shave his beard and groom his hair.

When Hasan showed up for court Tuesday unshaven, Goss barred him from the courtoom.

Hasan's defense attorney argued the beard is an expression of Hasan's Islamic faith. He is filing for recusal based on bias.

Hasan is charged with killing 13 people and injuring 32 others.
