Crime Stoppers of Lufkin is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in recent thefts of gasoline from Lufkin-area convenience stores.

The suspect is a heavyset, black female.  Security camera images show that during one of the thefts the suspect worn black athletic-style pants with a white stripe on each leg, a black tank top-style shirt, a black bra embellished with metallic or glass beads in the shape of stars, an orange and white bandana covering her hair, and large-lens sunglasses to hide her eyes.

For each theft, the suspect tricked a store clerk into activating the fuel pumps by handing the clerk a credit or debit card and telling them that she intended to fill her fuel tank and return for the card.  The suspect then filled the tank of her black, Ford Expedition and drove away.  When the clerks realized that the suspect left, they attempted to charge the credit or debit cards but learned that the cards were not valid.
