Full Armor Christian Academy in Henderson will remain open for the 2014-2015 school year.

According to the school's Parent Teacher Fellowship President, Wyn Billingsley, the decision came at Monday night's board meeting.

Recent financial burdens left the school unsure if they would be able to keep the doors open.

But after our story aired, many people in Rusk County, especially Full Armor alumni families, rallied together and raised enough money through pledges, bake sales, selling jewelry, and writing small as well as very large checks.

After the board meeting on Monday night, Billingsley notified all the parents and staff with the good news through an email.

Full Armor is the only Christian school in Rusk County, and those who have been associated with the school say the entire situation just highlights the strength of the Full Armor family.

"It really says how much this school means to them, how much they got from it ,how close the relationships were here, that they still feel like they can help us in anyway they can," said Isaac Herrera, a Full Armor student who just graduated from 11th grade.

Many of the larger donors asked to remain anonymous, but told Full Armor officials they want to see the school to continue impacting Rusk County for another twenty years.
