Fundraiser to be held benefiting family of murdered ETX woman

Elkhart, Texas (KETK) —
A Mexican luncheon will be held this weekend benefiting the family of an East Texas woman who was allegedly murdered by her ex-husband.
The benefit for the Salcedo/Salas family will take place, Saturday, January 18, starting at 8:00 a.m. The event will be held at Just "Deb's" Resale Shop located at 214 South United States Highway 287 in Elkhart.
There will be red and green enchilada plates for $5 and Pozole (Mexican soup) for $4. There will also be a bake sale and Just "Deb's" is asking for donations of cakes, brownies and cookies to sell.
Around 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office issued a capital murder warrant for Victor Aldaba Salcedo, 43, of Jacksonville. Victor Salcedo is accused of killing his ex-wife, Lorena Salas Salcedo, 42, of Elkhart, before trying to take his own life by shooting himself in the face.
Baked goods donations will begin being taken Saturday morning.
